How to Get Feedback on a Product

I've never asked people's opinion in the way where I'm saying like, hey, what did you think of this feature in this module? And there's scoring metric systems like NPS, where you get the feedback on product. Your mileage may vary on how useful that stuff is because of the bias. What I do listen to and ignore is people saying how awesome it was. If people are saying something is awesome, that means I didn't build garbage. How do you know if you built something amazing?
