I believe we will get net gan nuclear fusion working in the next decade. These are going to be complicated, not complicated like a fission reactor but still complicated systems. It may turn out to justd bug. The engineering takes so long that it doesn't matter. I think we've hacked biology already to an incredible degree. Whoever does it first, i'll be happy with.
