The Intimidation of a Teacher
"I didn't know my multiplication tables until I was much older than I should have been," he says. "It doesn't it doesn't take you to actually be hit if there's the fear that you could be." He recalls a teacher who would sneak up on students with a yardstick and smash them across their desks, even though they were made of wood. His dad also used to throw stuff or break things but never physically abused him.
