The Power of Celebrity in the Gospel
This whole celebrity thing, I do think it's uniquely evangelical. It really is kind of in our DNA, isn't it, as evangelicals that we want to reach the masses? And so you might think, well, having a charismatic passionate, likable, attractive leader who has celebrity status, has national renown, this is going to be good for our church. But on the other side of a fall, or moral failure or scandal, you also have to count the costs.
