The Unhappiness of Young People
I've taught now for about 25 years at some really remarkable prestigious and quite wonderful universities. And I can honestly say that over this 25 years, I think it's generally palpable. The level of anxiety, unhappiness, just general dis-ease. This is one of the things that students at these kinds of institutions are told you have to make it on your own. But they also feel a deep connection to often in reliance and gratitude upon their families.
