I think Rabbi Kagan underestimates what a milestone it is to put Orthodox Judaism into the conversation for someone who just couldn't even imagine, you know, if you'd asked me when I was 20 years old and in sophomore and college. If you're open to reality, then it may be very well the case that there's a God who made this reality that's going to reveal himself to you. A thoughtful scientist will tell you measuring things physically tells you nothing about the physical existence of them. Science doesn't conflate what science comes up with itself with why we're having this discussion here.
