Moderation: An Alternative to Ideology
Aurelian: Moderates are not always conservative. I define moderation in the book as an alternative to ideology. Ideologists give us lenses usually organized around one single principle, through which we can understand the world and explain how it should change. One is an alternative to this way of thinking because it can be found on all sides of the political spectrum. So yes, I want to make clear that moderation is a way of making things complex rather than simplifying them.
