The Importance of Material Properties in Stress Analysis

If you're doing like a normal non linear linear stress analysis, your hex elements are usually the best ones to be working with. But there's even more that goes into it, like something that you call your material model. So if you're making something out of wood, you have to use like a composite, which has a different material model than steel. A gasket squishes very easily, but it doesn't really rupture easily. You need to know how that is actually going to perform ahead of time so that you can then input that in your analysis.
