Romeo and Juliet Without the Chorus
There's been a long history from the exit section onwards of performing Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending. So is it more comic or more editable, that principle of Sniders that things could go in different directions? Is it less tragic? It's worth reviewing some of what we've said today about the chorus and the work that it does in the light of the folio's publication without it. And I want to try and use this cameo from Julius Caesar to think about writing poetry and what the Roman world means for Shakespeare. Maybe I'll see you then. Thank you.
