Do What the Text Says

Do not walk as they walk. Listen to their teaching, because they teach on the text. But do not interpret the text with your life in the same way that they are interpreting the text with their life. I hate it when people, i'll tell my students, don't call me rabbi with a capital r. Or we shouldn't call people reverend or whatever. And that'swhat you're pointing out about your catholic background. It's probably not exactly what jesus is getting at, probably not exactly. But yes, there is a calling out though, especially when we abuse those titles.
