You Love a Piza Because It's Good
For saint thomas and when god, the more we participate in god's existence, the more actually good we are. You're not living in the deep ocean with hair all over your claws. And you can actually think and read books and learn things. That's more existent. God loves you, therefore, more than he loves the hairy lobster, or whatever the thing is.
