Is This a Hoax?

Has anyone investigated whether this was a joke? I thought that. The whole point of a hoax article is to expose it right away, the moment it's published. And so here we are, many months later, nothing has come out about this being a hoax.? No, apparently not. This at least argues something real, like nat in a galaxy far, far, far away, it's actually like here on planet earth,. There are relatively few women and blacks in academic mathematics as compared to their share of the population at large. Do you at least credit the author here for making an argument that's at least plausibly true?
