Do I Want to Critique Long-Termism as Practiced by the Community?
I don't think it's an accurate representation of what long-termism is as practiced by people who call themselves long-termist in the effective altruist community. I'm reading this book thinking that a lot of the stuff that you and I said and wrote actually influenced what is in the book and what's not in the book. There was like, X-Risk was in the culture well before the phrase 'long-termism' went into the culture. After the pandemic, people are going to obviously be putting much more money and time into pandemic awareness rather than preparedness.
