The Power of the Daily Webcomic
In 2000, Howard really didn't know very much about what was possible with the web. His two biggest influences going in on this were a great big book of collected Buck Rogers comics I had from the 1940s. And so we get a week of those gags and then we move on. He thought, well, I could tell a long form story that does this thematic sort of thing on a weekly basis. It wasn't until about two years in that he realized he had sort of the makings of a mega arc.
