The Importance of Using Contradictory Theories

I've always found that a very interesting theory, and just something to sort of check yourself against in terms of sanity. Think that's important. I emin a book club where we're reading all the classics of western civilization. We're actuly on the iliad right now, and julian janes and the bicameral theory came up recently. And i think that one of the virtues of intellectual cur city is this openness to gem mining models you ultimately disagree with. This actually, i think, drives a lot of progress that hopefully we will see in the future, that we've seen so far in the social sciences.
