The Speed of Lies
The south revolted against the north and seceded because they thought the election of abraham lincoln would be a threat to their perceived right to own slaves. What's interesting about january sixth, as those people stormed the capital for something that was approvable, lie. The there was no stealing of the election, but social media created this separate environment in which they found it utterly believable. But at the same time, i'm extremely sceptical of sort of this notion that if facebook had ad a different algorithm, american history would be different in an important way.
