"I think apologies are kind of sacred. I think almost in a pretty literal sense they actually have a very strong religious connotation," he says. "We all do a great many things in the context of social environments where our anticipation of how people might react to what we do influences what we do" He adds that thinking is not as sacred as apologizing.
