The New Language Laws in Estonia Are Trying to Consolidate Language Differences

Only around 70% of Estonia can actually speak Estonian. Around 56% of the country being able to speak Russian, most in older populations. About 51% of Finland's population is able to speak English. Many Russians who were being encouraged to learn Estonian are simply opting to learn English as this better job prospects outside of Estonia itself. The interesting thing though of the past 17 months or so has been that Russia's in Estonia haven't really voiced particular support of Russia.
