Chichen: A City or a Place of Ritual?

I do think that the collapse of Teotihuacan certainly had impacts on why Chichen was successful. I think there was migration that was happening over those hundreds of years. There are these complexes where we have different elites that are outside around the main ceremonial center and so you had probably a very cosmopolitan community much like Teotihuacan. Think about Rome when there's a big event you know an Easter or something and people from all over the world come in to watch them right? So things like that happen to Chichen. We don't necessarily know who all these demographics were in this fight because I think it was a variety of people from that who come to this area.
