Seneca's View of Time and Money
In Seneca's view, we tend to regard time as infinite so that we don't make good use of it. If you had a certain amount of money and he makes the analogy very explicit between time and money,. You could be very rich with a modest amount if you use it well versus someone who has a fortune but squanders it and then ends up poor. So it's the same with time. Whereas with money, we might know how much we have, with time, we don't know howmuch we have. But if we are more intentional with it, if we're more careful with it, then we can make more out of it and perhaps make it feel longer.
