We need to have an agency capable of surfacing this information in real time basis and better informing the response. I also think we need to think differently about how we gather information abroad. We can't rely on the good graces of other nations to inform us when they're hosts to an emerging infection, because countries don't do that. And so in the future, as you point out in the book, we're going to have a pandemic again, and it's not going to be related to sars or covet at all, be something new that we're not ready for. i don't think the world can afford another lock down again.
