The Problem With Fatalism and Determinism

Fatalism is the thought that your choices and deliberations won't make any difference. Dennett would call it an attitude of local fatalism. But there's another perspective on fatalistic concern, which has to do with what's influencing us rather than how we can influence the world. What happens will depend on how you choose - even if how you choose depends on some kind of external causal factors.
