I'm Sorry, Twitter's Making Bad Decisions

Twitter's view count DB is entirely separate and hosted in Google Cloud when the rest of their data storage was entirely unrelated. Trying to build a bridge between those two things was a significant challenge for them. Don't get me started on the GCP AWS. So Twitter's made some bad decisions. My personal opinion. I don't speak for it necessarily anybody else. But like going to the public cloud shifting a lot of the analytics stuff out of our frame was insane. It's just a dumb idea. Move it back. Just move it back.
