The Myth of the Black Widow Spider

Jay Parini: Most of what kara said is what i know, and that we're told to fear themwhave since an early agebout six years old. He says black widow spiders are not injecting the amount of venom into a human that they would be in one of these creatures. Parini: They prey on very small insects, like flies, mosquitoes, grasshoppers, beetles and caterpillars. And their venom works very well on these small bugs if it doesn't outright kill them.
