The former president's lawyers filed a document asking for the trial date to be adjourned indefinitely until various complicated motions are decided. Trump is entitled to every bit of due process that any other defendant would receive, but there are some dueling equities here. The more they can push it back, the more likely they might be able to push it till after the election.
