Prison Censorship and the Stifling of Free Speech
Censorship and the stifling of freedom of speech is fundamental bedrock aspect of incarceration in the United States. People miss that prisons are important sites of organizing their places where people every day organize and band together for their own survival so when we're talking about stifling speech it's not just people sitting around you know like lumps on a log. The First Amendment I think enshrines the ability to organize in this country there's no place in which the state has a tighter grip on demobilizing and suppressing organizing that in the prison.
