The Legal Loophole in THC Production

I'm fascinated by this sort of unusual legal loophole in a number of states in the US at the moment that Delta eight is not explicitly regulated or illegal. So there's really no reason to modify that except for, you know, legal loopholes. I had a friend who was a brilliant chemist who died in an explosion making HHC. And there's part of me that just thinks like, oh man, why was he doing such a large scale hydrogenation to make a less potent cannabinoid? It was only desirable because it was a legal loophole and then someone's dead as a result of it.
