While in school, you took two simestrs of ballet and enrolled in a kubuki theatre class taught by choso sateau. You ended up travelling to japan with satea's kabuki troop. Did that work influence how you were approaching acting? Well, sure. I mean, all these illinois kids basically are suddenly learning this traditional japanese art form. It was such profound lessons in showmanship in so many ways. The reverence with which the kabuki artists treat the stage and the audience felt wholly me in a way.
