Corporate Profits Are Growing Faster Than Consumer Prices During the Pandemic
Canada's present rate of inflation would be at least a quarter lower were it not for the gains that some companies have made on price hikes during the pandemic. Since the pandemic began, canadian households are paying about 87 billion more on consumer prices in the aggregate. And you can make a fair assumption by dividing those two figures, that 26 % of those higher consumer prices are a result of increased corporate profits.
