The National Response to the War on Women
The first order to withdraw from the front was in September 1936, but a lot of women didn't actually end up withdrawing. There was also this desire to militarize the armed forces and kind of bring them into a more standardized hierarchical army as opposed to the militias. The Nationalists really ridiculed the Republic for having women be on the fronts and it was taken on an attack on, I was taken as an attack rather on Republican masculinity.
