Some of the people strauss trained, or who had tangential connections to him, ended up being prominent neo conservatism. Paul wolfewits took some classes with strauss in the late sixties but was not a strausand properly so called. James atlas wrote an enormously stupid piece in the new york times magazine in two thousand three saying that strauss is the grey eminence behind neo conservatism. i tend to think that the whole question of strauss as godfather of the niokons is oversold.
