Listeria in Ice Cream
Nine of 100 samples from surfaces at big olaf's manufacturing plant tested positive for listeria. A few days later, 16 of 17 ice cream samples from the production facility returned positive. The biggest surprise is that the facility and stores stayed open for at least a week after it was known there was a problem. If somebody gets sick from the liche cream being sold in the last coupleof three or four days, and they get sick and die, they're opening themselves up to personal liability," says food safety attorney bill marler.
