The Story of David's Rise to Power

In many ways, David did follow god. But he was also a sinner. And we are about to learn about one of his darkest moments when he was clearly not following god. He chooses to grossly abuse her trust and misuse his power as king. The story begins catching him in a place he should not have been. Look at verse one. In the spring of the year when kings go out to battle, david sends joab, his general and his soldiers, but he does not go. This action clues us into where his heart is already at. He is already not following the lord.
