The Unsettling Politeness of John Houston in Chinatown

Mark O'Mara: I think that what Mark is doing there is he's not only talking about subsequent but kind of pointing to some kind of very similar way. Whatever way John came, that's the way that Jesus came. That's the way they both carried out their respective ministries. The first thing that I thought of was the John Houston character in Chinatown. He played a really distinctive, unique sort of visage and the way he talked, everything. In the narratives with Elijah and Elisha, something very similar happens.
