The type of rejection is really triggered by a a mitocondrial dna that gets into the circle circulation and stimulates, revs up the immune system to reject the heart. Now we know that there are agents that blocked the effects of this mitocondral diene in way that we have not thought about before. And i would imagine that those kinds of markers will be also useful and will benefit all transplant patients.
