How Did Neander Talls Learn to Count?
An ancient piece of bone with notches on it may have had mathematical significance. An archaeologist at the university of bordeaux believes that this bone artifact from 60 thousand years ago in france may be different from some other ones that have the regular decorative slashes and carvings in them. This is an artifact discovered in the 19 venties at the site of a lepredel near angulema. It's a chunk of bone from the femer of a prehistoric hyena. And so about 60 thousands years ago, one of the neandertals who inhabited this region at the time made a fine modification to this bone shard,. cutting exactly nine notches in the bone
