The Importance of Electrifying Everything

If we just electrify everything, we will need less than half the energy we currently use. Why is it half? Why does it go down so much? So when you burn something like coal or natural gas to create electricity, which we do in big quantities today, about two thirds of the energy is lost as heat. When you burn gasoline to run a car, you lose about 80% of the energy in that gasoline again as heat. And if you use wind and solar and nuclear to create the electricity, you don't lose again so much energy to heat. America has the resources and the option to basically continue to live something that looks very similar to the way we did only electrically
