The History of the Transatlantic Cable

The first transatlantic cable was laid by Cyrus Field in the early 19th century. He did a lot of fundraising and invented a lot of schemes to get people on board. Tens of millions of dollars later, it's still possible to connect Europe and North America using cables under the sea.
