When you're building a react app, most of your state is living client side. There's some resistance that there's some like kind of throwback now to like, can we throw, and we put stuff back on the server? So Redux was invented, I think, or it was at least released in 2015. It quickly took over as the library and the pattern because it was basically a simplified version of the flex pattern way simplified. But it did have some of the same downsides and stuff like that.
