You can encourage healthy fun with reasonable risks. It is safer for your son, early high school, even late middle school, to go on an overnight bike trip than for him to go to the basement for ano with anfilter internet. Let him do something that he's going to come back and feel pretty cool about it. Because the other kids are not doing that. I'm feeling the self confidence ether he can do something that most people can't. The other microculture is to put the right mentors around your sons. Mentering is a two way relationship. Just like you cant force friendship, you can't force mentering either. But you can put the right people around your son
