The Declaration of Independence

In 17 75 the average resident of massachusetts paid one shilling per year in taxes. The average resident in england paid 26 shillings a year. And so t e parliament, not unreasonably, looked to the colonies to pay. That sets these tax policies set in train a chain of events that will result in the war of independence breaking out. But what signals did it send to the world about trade?
