The History of Exorcism

In ancient Samaria and Babylon, exorcists already played a prominent role somewhere between that of a priest and a doctor. The rituals would vary, but they still relied on artifacts, techniques to drive out a spirit. They might not have used the word demon, maybe more like spirit. This could be in some cases, this could be a human spirit, a ghost, an angry ancestor. In other cases, though, it would be something that never was human, a monster from another plane.
