Current law holds that you are dead when you're frozen in cryo and I could easily see the precedent for getting that removed being to stimulate brain activity in a frozen brain or emulate it just enough to prove that person was still around. One can imagine that being a legal nightmare waiting to happen in many different ways. If you thought ancient Egypt was obsessed with taking everything with them to the hereafter, imagine a civilization a million years after cryo had been perfected but actual biological immortality has not been.
