Compilation on Erlang and Elixir Takes a Long Time

The way Elixir or an Erlang work is that you actually have to compile the code onto a machine. Compilation on Elixir is very long compared to other tools I've used. Go is pretty quick, if I remember correctly. The formatting on go ensure that the compiler can make some assumptions about the code so it speeds up the completion. That's what I kind of understand. A real-time garbage collector and stuff like that. And so you'd figure that maybe there could be something similar for Elixir, right?
