The Seven Central Truths of Shame Based Trauma
The seven central truths that for me represent these observations that I've made are true by degree for anybody who's moved through this story of otherness. So to the first of these being ostracized, bullied, discriminated against and forgotten about as a child is a form of shame based trauma. Fear doesn't just go away because we grow up. Rather, it drives home certain false rules that we follow into adulthood. And so when we're in something that snaps us back to that recollection, the brain will respond to fear. That's what trauma is.
