A Brief History of the Aztecs
The Aztecs instituted training for all males the commoners schools meaning the house of youth located in each of the city's wards. Each commoners school had a staff of accomplished veteran soldiers who trained the youths in military skills. The sons of the nobility generally attended the calmicak much easier to pronounce this as thick now well word which were attached to the temples and under the direct control of the religious authorities. Students at thecalmicak provided an academically superior education focusing not only on the military skills needed by all Aztec males but also on religious instruction history painting music law astrology mathematics government and architecture among other things.
