The Evolution of the Welfare State

In the nineteenth century, it was the state's interest in promoting population health that motivated it to begin to think about how you could put in some reanly basic services. The earliest calse that there should be a state medical service is usually attributed to beatrice webb minoritory report of the 19 o nine poor law commission. And we go through the twentieth to nineteenth century. There are more and more innovations, but it's a very gradualati, an evolution, not a revolution.
