The Importance of Having Guarantees

I believe it is possible to have a confidence that we are following God's lead, but not possible to have an absolute certainty. I was thinking of the scientific atheist, particularly Richard Dawkins. Do you see evidential atheism would be what you would call that? And so far as I can tell, there isn't anything new about them. They are resurfacing arguments that have been around for a long time.
