The belton road initiative is one vehicle through which the chinese government hopes to attain this status. i covered china on both sides of the turn of the century, and so heard quite often that, you know, if the twentieth century was america's, the 20 first would be china's. It also seems to me there are many, many contradictions. Perhaps the most vexing for me yet, atways, the contradiction against some fundamental human instincts.
