Poll: Two thirds roughly of Americans are opposed to allowing transgender women and girls to compete on teams that align with their gender identities. Biden proposed regulatory change is difficult for a lot of people to grasp because it does do that. But the current legislation as it stands does not make that distinction. In fact, it goes out of its way to not making that distinction.
President Biden hopes so. His administration is preparing to roll out new rules that would counter state and local bans aimed at keeping transgender youth out of sports. ESPN’s Katie Barnes explains.
